I’m using one prompt, since I’d like to bombard this post with bonus photos. (for the points) XD

My poem:

{the river}
I’m sitting
With my bike beside me
With the wind whistling through my ears
I’m sitting
By the river
The clear river
A life giving thing
A home for many
I’m sitting
On a rocky cliff
Listening to the
Constant ripples
of the river
I spend
A peaceful evening
Beside
the fresh
and comforting river.

Bonus photos:

Sorry Carol, I went crazy! I have 17 bonus pics XD

Hope you like my poem and photos! Go Team Lavender!

Where Dandelions Grow by Lydia Howe {Book Review}

Untitled

Today I’m going to be writing the FIRST EVER BOOK REVIEW ON THIS BLOG! *applause*

Where Dandelions Grow v1.21
I’m reviewing Where Dandelions Grow, by Lydia Howe. This book will be released on 26th September (tomorrow). Congrats on getting this wonderful book published, Lydia! I’m really glad that I got a chance to read this beauty.

Plot:

Cousins are forever, or at least they’re supposed to be.
What happens when your world falls apart and your dreams are mocked by those closest to you?
Destiny’s idyllic childhood full of laughter and cousins abruptly ended when her mom uprooted the family to move them across the country with strict instructions to never talk about Swallow Ridge again. Eleven years later Destiny moves back to her hometown, determined to find her cousins… and answers.
Plagued by generations of bitterness and manipulation, Destiny hides her life-long goal – unwilling to let anyone else trample her fragile dreams. But life in the cozy town full of dandelions teaches Destiny there’s more to life than what she’s been taught.
Is it possible Swallow Ridge not only holds the answers Destiny so intensely searches for, but also the hope?

(taken from Goodreads)

Rating:

★★★★★

I’d definitely rate the plot of this book 5 stars, because it was the plot that made me want to continue reading.

Characters:

There were many characters in this book, including Destiny,Lexie,Kamryn and Teal (the four cousins), Mrs Reed (a wise and kind woman who knows everything about Destiny’s family), Erin(Destiny’s mother) and so many more!
I’ve only mentioned a few of the main characters.

Rating:

★★★★✩

I really liked the characters, especially Destiny and Teal.

Format:

I loved how the book was formatted. Nothing more to say. 🙂

Overall Rating:

I’ve not really been a fan in terms of Young Adult Fiction, but this book was just the other way round. I loved every word, every sentence, every paragraph, every chapter and the entire story. Thanks so much Lydia for a great read. I recommend this book to everyone out there!

And so, I hope you enjoyed this little book review! Make sure to read this wonderful book.

*Note:I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for writing a review. This review was also based on my opinion, no one else influenced me.*

Also, a quick shoutout to Rachel’s Double Scoop Writing and Photography Contest! Check it out and sign up. 😀

And that’s about it! See you all very soon. 🙂

Mirra: What’s the story behind your blog’s name? Why is your blog called so?
Anya: My blog is called My Life in Words because my blog is about expressing my happenings in life through words! Also, my two favourite things are life and words.
Mirra: That’s pretty cool! Tell me two things which have inspired to you begin your blog.
Anya: One is probably you and Eliza, ’cause I know the two of you IRL and your blogs are amazing, and probably the other one is because I want to share my thoughts, writing and such to the rest of the world without leaving my seat 😉
Mirra: Aw,that’s sweet of you! And nice reasons! What caused you to switch from Blogger to WordPress?
Anya: Blogger really isn’t my blogging platform, it doesn’t allow a nice design, and the themes are limited. Also, a whole heap of my friends (IRL and Non-IRL) are part of the WordPress Community.
Mirra: Oh okay. Hahaha, my questions seem to be so short, while your answers are looonnng! Whatever, forget that! What bloggers do you look up to? (your blogging friends)
Anya: You, Eliza, Saanvi, Mukta, Olivia, Hazel, Angela, Hannah, Starling, Yashvi, Arunima,Carol, Saanika and Tanisha!
Mirra: Yeah, all those bloggers ARE awesome! What are your future hopes and goals for My Life in Words?
Anya: I’d like to post entertaining and fun content, reach 100 follows by the end of this year, make new blogging friends and share my writings and thoughts with the world!
Mirra: Thanks so much for the interview, Anya! I had a LOT of fun interviewing you.
Anya: You’re welcome Mirra! And thanks for being a part of the tour!

Do check out Anya’s wonderful blog!

Make sure to follow the tour!
